Woman with a Parasol – Madame Monet and Her Son, sometimes known as The Stroll is an oil-on-canvas painting by Claude Monet from 1875.
Woman with a Parasol was painted outdoors, probably in a single day of 6-7 hours' duration. Monet intended the work to convey a feeling of a casual family outing rather than a serious portrait, and pose and placement to suggest that his wife and son interrupted their stroll while he captured the moment.
